was watching my XMFC on blu-ray. finally.
Ah, one of tumblr’s greatest challenges…keeping gifs small in size but big and bold :) I’m going to post this, actually, in case anyone out there wants to learn (…and help me over at fydisneymisfits? ;D)
Generally, it helps to only have 10-15 frames. There’s some other tricks like making the gif with more darker parts (apparently the color white needs more bytes than black.) So I make adjustment layers and try to make darker parts dark :D look at curves and levels!
My favorite way to reduce the size is making the background static…here’s a tutorial: http://britta-perry.tumblr.com/gifbackground. If it’s a static scene (ex, it’s not a bunch of shots, or the camera doesn’t move angles), it can really help cut down on the size of the gif. I REALLY use this a lot to cut corners…I find every little bit helps!
