Spoiler-free movie review, but MY FUCKING GOD i will have to contain all my feels under a read more.

I’ll post about what we did to get into the screening later…but ****WARNING: I am going to talk about the Avengers now. No spoilers. But thoughts? JUST WANTED TO WARN YOU SO YOU DON’T GET PISSED OFF****

The Avengers is, how can I say, a non-stop EXTREMELY WELL DONE action packed film. I It jumps straight into the story, and to be honest, quite skimpy on background details of the characters. But it’s got a 4 movie lead up :D so it’s to be expected. And even if it’s a bit of a macguffin story…

…it is SO. GLORIOUS.

I freaking love ensemble casts so much @_@ (like favorite films like X-Men First Class, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Oceans Elven, to name a few) and this is probably the BEST balanced ensemble film I’ve ever seen. I really, really appreciate that Joss Whedon took the time to go beyond than “oh someone had their cool moment”, but really, every Avenger was pulling a great amount of weight in the film, and it just makes you love EVERYONE. (if you didn’t already). Their teamwork and motivations are surprisingly well developed, although I did miss some of it because I was JUST FANGASMING about everything that was going on. But that’s okay…talking with others about our favorite parts really drew out some depth that I had missed initially :)

Littered with great little treats, jokes, and surprises…and solid choices in camera direction and action choreography …omg, the action. I would want to say this is actually a pinnacle of action choreography choices in any film, since nearly every sequence was unique, and had tension and flow in all the right places…it was so beautiful *A* How many people can direct, act, and edit 6 individuals working separately but together to fight to protect the world from demise??

You can’t just not have fun with this film. It was just like a freaking party for my audiovisual senses and the Avengers totally just crashed it.

Completely satisfied.
