Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood surely is ironic.

30 days of Anime (Day 23) - Anime that you thought had the best Art - Fullmetal Alchemist
(I’m talking about the first series, not brotherhood btw)
This pick is based solely on how I was introduced to the series. I only was interested in watching FMA because after watching so many well done AMVs (i used to just download anything good offa animemusicvideos.org), I just started noticing that it had REALLY good animation. Compared to a lot of the shonens of that time (Naruto, Bleach, etc) the series really blows me away in consistency and quality.
There’s a lot of uniqueness to the FMA world, but BONES never slacked anywhere. Brotherhood had a great story, but I really did miss the strong, bold tone of the first one. You can see comparisons at fmascreencapcomparison.tumblr.com…I feel the first series’ angles and color/shadows  are more dynamic and serious, and gives it a really emotional edge. Mebe a little bit of it is the AMVs speaking thru me (music videos are GREAT at giving me emotion where there probably isn’t any)…but I really appreciated the art. A lot.
PS: Brotherhood animation is still top-of-the-line, of course, and very befitting for the story. it was just easier to compare, is all…not hating!
